We want to know what you think!
Denver is excited to take part in the 2025 Iowa Community Visioning Program! Through this initiative, Iowa State University will gather input from community members to better understand perspectives on enhancing Denver’s landscape through transportation improvements.
The goal of this project is to create a landscape plan that reflects Denver’s vision for the future. Your input is essential, and your ideas on community design and enhancement will help guide the Denver Visioning Committee in shaping a more connected and vibrant community.
There will be multiple opportunities to participate in the Community Visioning process. Stay tuned for updates on the next steps!
Community Focus Groups – Thank You for Participating!
On Saturday, February 22, Denver residents came together for a series of Community Focus Groups at the Denver Community Center & Library. We were thrilled to have 53 participants join us, sharing their insights and ideas to help shape Denver’s future!
These small-group discussions helped identify factors that affect transportation use in Denver, where challenges and opportunities exist, and how these influence local transportation choices. Through mapping, conversation, and shared experiences, participants provided invaluable insights that will shape the vision for Denver’s future.
Focus groups were held for a variety of user types, including:
✅ Older Adults
✅ Mobility-Challenged Individuals
✅ Parents
✅ Youth (Ages 6-12 & 13-17)
✅ Active Recreationists
✅ Steering Committee Members
We extend our deepest gratitude to all who took part in these discussions and shared their perspectives. Your input plays a key role in shaping a more connected and accessible community for all.
Next Steps
The insights gathered from these focus groups will now be used to develop a comprehensive landscape plan for Denver. Stay tuned for updates on the next opportunities to get involved as we continue this exciting process!
Completed Public Input Processes
Join us for focus groups
In this participatory assessment, we want to find out which factors and conditions affect transportation use in Denver, where these factors and conditions are most prevalent, and how they influence route and transportation choices locally. Because residents have the best knowledge of how Denver’s transportation system works, we use focused, small-group conversations, mapping, and photos of the best and worst to understand local transportation. We conduct focus groups with a variety of user types, including parents, youth, older adults, people with mobility issues, and active recreationists, to identify factors that affect transportation use.
The focus group workshop is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, at the Denver Community Center & Library, 100 Washington Street, with groups scheduled at the following times:
Group 1 – Older Adults: 9:00–10:00 am
