Assessments under way in visioning communities
AMES,
Iowa – The 2012 visioning communities are
currently in the assessment phase of the process. Each community is having focus
group workshops to better understand the transportation needs and opportunities.
This year, we are providing focus group participants
with GPS-enabled digital cameras, so they can go out into the community and
photograph what they've just discussed. At the end of the workshop, the
photographs are uploaded to an online map of the community. Participants are
able to see the locations of the barriers and opportunities that they
identified, as well as those identified by other focus group participants.
