Albion is participating in the 2026 Community Visioning Program. Iowa State University is gathering information from community members to learn your opinions on how to improve the community’s landscape through transportation enhancements. The goal of this project is to develop a landscape plan that illustrates the vision of Albion. Your input is an important part of this process and your ideas about community design and enhancement are valuable to the Albion visioning committee.
Join us for focus groups
In this participatory assessment, we want to find out which factors and conditions affect transportation use in Albion, where these factors and conditions are most prevalent, and how they influence route and transportation choices locally. Because residents have the best knowledge of how Albion’s transportation system works, we use focused, small-group conversations, mapping, and photos of the best and worst to understand local transportation. We conduct focus groups with a variety of user types, including parents, youth, older adults, people with mobility issues, and active recreationists, to identify factors that affect transportation use.
The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Public Library, 400 N Main St, Albion. The individual focus groups are scheduled as follows:
Group 1 – Older adults: 9:00–10:00 am
Group 2 – Mobility-challenged individuals: 9:00–10:00 am
Group 3 – Parents: 10:15–11:15 am
Group 4 – Youth 12 years old and younger: 10:15–11:15 am
Group 5 – Youth 13 years old and older: 11:30–11:15 am
Group 6 – Active recreationists: 11:30 am –12:30 pm
Group 7 – Steering committee: 12:45 pm –1:30 pm
Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled group time to allow for check-in.
Adult Sign Up
Adults who want to participate in a focus group can sign up by clicking “Adult Sign Up” below. Because this is a research project, Iowa State is required to obtain digital written consent from participants, which is included in the sign-up process.
Youth Sign Up
Youth who want to participate in a focus group can sign up by clicking “Youth Sign Up” below. In order to participate, youth must give digital written assent and their parents must give digital written parental consent. Assent and parental consent are included in the sign-up process.
